1. Alignments

In Dalaya, alignments help shape your character’s moral and ethical perspectives. Understanding these can enhance your roleplaying experience and influence your gameplay.

Good:

  • Traits: Decency, altruism, empathy.
  • Description: Goodness involves common decency and morality, such as helping others, giving to charity, and being kind.

Evil:

  • Traits: Selfishness, pettiness, antipathy.
  • Description: Evilness focuses on self-interest and harming others for personal gain, like stealing and being unkind.

Lawful:

  • Traits: Authority, justice, karma, nosiness.
  • Description: Lawfulness involves upholding authority and fairness, following rules, and ensuring justice.

Chaotic:

  • Traits: Freedom, respect for privacy, disrespect for authority.
  • Description: Chaos values personal freedom and rejects imposed authority, preferring self-governance and spontaneity.

Neutral:

  • Traits: Balance between other alignments.
  • Description: Neutrality avoids strong inclinations towards any single ideology, focusing on moderate and balanced actions.

2. Worship in Dalaya

The Elemental One

  • Holy Day: The Feast of the Creation on January 15th
    • Description: On this day, by long-standing tradition, worshipers across Dalaya come together to celebrate the Creation of Dalaya and its Pantheon by the hands of the Elemental One, eons upon eons in the past.
    • Holiday Bonus: 5% increase in damage and healing. Divine Light worshipers: 10% increase in damage and healing instead.

Enthann

  • Plane: Plane of Valor
  • Description: Martial, self-improving.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Augment Quest: Enthann’s Necklace and Augment
  • Holy Day: Enthann’s Challenge on February 9th
    • Description: On this day long ago, Enthann challenged Tarhyl for the Throne of the Flame Spirits–and lost, leaving Tarhyl’s ranks forever. In commemoration of his effort, all forms of damage are increased in power.
    • Holiday Bonus: 15% increase in all forms of damage.

Shiritri

  • Plane: Tasinath, Land of Bliss
  • Description: Whimsical, emotional.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Augment Quest: Shiritri’s Necklace and Augment
  • Holy Day: Shiritri’s Dawn on March 1st
    • Description: As Spring overtakes the dying Winter, Shiritri’s power fills the world with renewed whimsy. On this day, charming and mesmerizing spells are more effective.
    • Holiday Bonus: 25% less resistance to charming and mesmerizing spells, and their duration is increased by 10%.

Malath

  • Description: Orderly, conservative.

  • Holy Day: Malath’s Sacrifice on April 3rd
    • Description: Taldorians across Dalaya take this day to fast and reflect in a symbolic communion with their Creator, the mysterious archmage Malath, and to remember his death, along with the destruction of their former home in the Lands of Magic. This reflection awakens an overwhelming will to survive.
    • Holiday Bonus: 10% increase in critical feats (melee, spell, and healing) for Taldorians.

Tarhansar

  • Plane: Caverns of the Deep One
  • Description: Defender, impulsive.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Augment Quest: Tides of Blood
  • Holy Day: Tarhansar’s Jubilee on April 28th
    • Description: As the Spring rains begin to come in earnest, swelling the rivers and lakes of Dalaya, Tarhansar and all the creatures of the sea celebrate. On this day alone, Tarhansar extends his powers, allowing unrestricted movements underwater.
    • Holiday Bonus: 30% increase in attack speed while underwater.

Sivyana

  • Plane: Towers of Agony
  • Description: Vengeful, sadistic.
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Augment Quest: Prisoners for Sivyana
  • Holy Day: Sivyana’s Torment on May 19th
    • Description: As Shiritri’s power begins to wane, Sivyana exerts her dominance over Dalaya, preparing all its creatures for the coming of the season of Tarhyl with her brutality. On this day, pain in all its forms is more intense.
    • Holiday Bonus: Damage over time spells do their damage 25% faster, and Poison spells are 10% stronger (additional 5% seasonal bonus).

Tarhyl

  • Plane: Tower of Tarhyl
  • Description: Dominating, violent.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Augment Quest: Flames of Vengeance and Strife
  • Holy Day: Tarhyl’s Reign on June 1st
    • Description: As the heat of Summer drives out the Spring rains, Tarhyl asserts his power, dominating those of the others among the Four. Fire spells are empowered during this time.
    • Holiday Bonus: Fire spells are 20% stronger (additional 5% seasonal bonus).

Althuna

  • Plane: City of Mercy
  • Description: Healer, just.

  • Holy Day: Althuna’s Vigil on July 12th - day only
    • Description: As the heat of Summer reaches its zenith, Althuna prays on behalf of all Dalayans for reprieve from the pain and destruction of Tarhyl’s flames. Healing spells are bolstered during this time.
    • Holiday Bonus: Healing spells are 50% stronger (additional 10% daylight bonus).

Jayla

  • Plane: The Grand Library
  • Description: Builder, rational.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Augment Quest: The High Price of Knowledge
  • Holy Day: Jayla’s Enlightenment on August 7th
    • Description: On this day, all those who search for knowledge celebrate the awakening and ascension of a mere spirit of the earth under Sihala into a deity in her own right–the Goddess of Lore herself, Jayla. To aid in the eternal quest for knowledge, meditation rates are increased.
    • Holiday Bonus: Meditation rates are increased by 50%.

Sihala

  • Plane: Plane of Earth
  • Description: Balancing, systematic.
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Augment Quest: Instincts and Intentions
  • Holy Day: Sihala’s Harvest on September 1st
    • Description: As Autumn calms the sputtering ashes of Summer, Sihala returns the balance of the Four to its rightful order. The harmonious unity of this balance enhances the effectiveness of buff spells and resurrections.
    • Holiday Bonus: Buff spells last 50% longer, and resurrections are mana-free.

Gradalsh

  • Plane: Plane of Entropy
  • Description: Destructive, entropic.

  • Augment Quest: A Plague for All Seasons
  • Holy Day: Gradalsh’s Defilement on October 20th
    • Description: As all the world falls into the decay of Autumn, Gradalsh seizes his chance to spread his vile influence, corrupting the balance created by Sihala and throwing Dalaya into chaos. Maladies of every kind are able to outlive themselves during this time.
    • Holiday Bonus: Damage over time spells last 25% longer, and Disease spells are 10% stronger (additional 5% seasonal bonus).

Shojar

  • Plane: Azmaen, Heart of Frost
  • Description: Schemer, warlord.
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Augment Quest: Shojar’s Necklace and Augment
  • Holy Day: Shojar’s Advantage on December 1st
    • Description: As Winter blankets the decayed remnants of Autumn, Shojar takes advantage of the weakening of the balance of the pantheon, consolidating his power and fortifying his defenses against the legions of Tarhyl. Cold spells are enhanced during this time

Marlow

  • Plane: Plane of Nightmare
  • Description: Manipulator, controller.

  • Holy Day: Marlow’s Night on December 24th - night only
    • Description: As the Winter nights wrap Dalaya in shadow longer and longer, the shivering nightmares of good Dalayans empower Marlow, allowing her influence to spill over into the waking world. Undead NPCs and Lifetaps are particularly powerful during this night.
    • Holiday Bonus: Undead NPCs are doubled in power and Lifetaps are 50% stronger (additional 10% night bonus).

3. Weather

  • Snow: Cold spells are 2.5% stronger, fire spells are 2.5% weaker.
  • Rain: Magic spells are 2.5% stronger, fire spells are 2.5% weaker.
  • Dry: Fire spells are 1% stronger.

4. Seasons and Times

Seasons

  • Spring (March to May): Poison-based spells are 5% more potent and longer lasting.
  • Summer (June to August): Fire-based spells are 5% more potent and longer lasting.
  • Autumn (September to November): Disease-based spells are 5% more potent and longer lasting.
  • Winter (December to February): Cold-based spells are 5% more potent and longer lasting.

Times

  • Day time: Healing spells are 10% stronger.
  • Night time: Lifetaps and undead creatures (including Necromancer/Shadow Knight pets) are 10% stronger.
